What if stories could create space to make meaning of our lives and the divine?

Gather around the circle for an hour of story, wonder, and Godly Play. Wherever you are in your own spirituality, religious connection or disconnection, you are welcome in this circle.

Deacon Courtney Webb joins us as our special guest storyteller.

Godly play is a style of storytelling and experience that is based on Montessori principles of simplicity, fostering curiosity, and open-ended spiritual exploration. It centers and honors the capacity of children, but holds rich meaning for adults too. We use stories from the Christian tradition but it’s not really about teaching Bible stories. Rather, the sacred stories are a tool for developing a mature spirituality. This isn’t about feeding you the “right answers.” This is a space where wonder is encouraged and supported.

The circle is open to anyone with a longing to experience and wonder about the holy in community and/or wants to nurture these things with the kids in their life. (And you don’t have to have kids to participate in the adult circle).

Meet us at the Courtyard Gate

(2510 Van Buren St)

4th Sundays @ 4 PM

Kids (ages 4-12) will have their own circle

in the courtyard outside (weather permitting)

to experience a sacred story, wondering, and expression.

Adults are invited to meet separately for their own experience around the same story and reflection. In this first gathering (or maybe the first couple), we’ll also give an overview of the intentions and methods of Godly Play and how to take the elements of this time home with you.

Mark you calendars for our spring gatherings:
