RIC Sunday: A Call to COME OUT of Isolation and Shame into Belovedness
This week’s Sacred Story comes from the Gospel according to Mark 5:1-20.
There’s no manuscript for this week’s sermon for you to read because sometimes the Holy Spirit, that sneaky, surprising, Holy Spirit, comes in during the beginning of your sermon and lays a different Word on your heart. You can click this link to watch the recorded video of the sermon from Sunday, here.
This sermon was preached as part of +KINDRED’s “RIC Sunday”, a day when we celebrate God's diverse and beloved creation through our LGBTQIA+ siblings in Christ, and we recognized that we are a "Reconciling in Christ" (RIC) community. Being a “Reconciling In Christ” community is a formal way of saying that people of all races, genders, gender identities, abilities, sexual orientations, fashion sense, and political leanings are not only welcome but embraced. It means we have richness to celebrate, but also work to do.
